Shower Repairs

When it comes to repairing your shower, we recommend choosing an experienced waterproofer as there are many different solutions available. An experienced waterprooofer will be able to suggest the best and most efficient systems that will do the job and at a price that won’t break the budget. One of these is a shower seal.

We use a 3-tier approach:

1. Flexible rubberised grout which we use to grout the whole wall and floor of shower (other companies use a rigid epoxy grout which take little or no building movement, most other companies only coat 2 bottom rows of wall tiles , we do whole wall from top to bottom).
2. A clear waterproofed sealer on wall and floor of shower that is stain and mould resistant.
3. Flexible mould resistant perimeter seal. We have had a 100% percent success rate with this system.

We give a one year labour and material warranty subject to our warranty terms and conditions. Most others only offer a material warranty which means that all labour will be paid by owner of the property if a problem occurs during warranty period.

This system will be used for smaller leaks where water penetrates through walls. If is very effective.

The next system we use is to replace the shower tray and build a tiled hob around the perimeter of the shower. We use a 4-tier system:

1. Flexible waterproof membrane applied to floor, re-tile the floor with a water resistant tile glue.
2. Flexible rubberised grout which we use to grout the whole wall and floor of shower.
3. A clear waterproofed sealer on wall and floor of shower that is stain and mould resistant.
4. Flexible mould resistant perimeter seal, we have had a 100% percent success rate with this system.

We give a one year labour and material warranty subject to our warranty terms and conditions.

This system is used when there is severe leaking and water is going straight down. This system is generally double the cost of a shower seal and again, we inspect were the leak is coming from first, and then choose the appropriate system for your needs.

Another system we use is where the shower and totally failed and damaged the structure and flooring below. This may require a partial or full bathroom renovation, again after careful investigation we inspect the entire floor and where possible, underneath the floor. This may require a small cut out into the ceiling. This system can be quite expensive and would only be used in extreme cases.
